Discover the Moadim from their original sources—the passages in Tanach that relate to them. This course will explore many of the passages that are publicly read on Shavuos, Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, and Succos. Some of the questions that will be addressed are: - How did the Jewish nation prepare for the Giving of the Torah? - What makes the Aseres Hadibros unique? - Are the Aseres Hadibros intended for all of mankind? - Why are there some differences between the Aseres Hadibros in Parashas Yisro and in Parashas Va’es’chanan? - Why do we read from the book of Habakuk on Shavuos? - How does Megillas Rus relate to Shavuos? - Were Avram and Sarai correct in their treatment of Hagar? - What kind of a person was Hagar? - What is the concept of hevel in the book of Koheles?
