Service Description
The Bais Yaakov Movement: The Next Generation Building on the extraordinary foundation laid down by Sarah Schenirer and her colleagues, more contemporary teachers of Bais Yaakov continued that mesorah and even added their own chapter to the continuing story of Bais Yaakov. Sarah Schenirer's passionate personality and righteous character made her a true role model for both her students and the wider Jewish community. She ignited a profound emotional connection to Hashem within her students, inspiring them to embrace their faith wholeheartedly. Even those who never met her were impacted tremendously by her inspiring teachings and sense of mission. We will meet many of Sarah Schenirer’s loyal students who — with the image of their teacher, Frau Schenirer, always at the forefront of their minds — continued her legacy and planted Torah in communities around the globe. As her students confronted inhuman experiences in World War II, courageously championed Torah and defied the Nazi monsters, and fought to rebuild a destroyed community, they were guided by the light and lessons to which they had been exposed in a small, loving home in Krakow. This course, the sequel to last semester’s course on the founding of the Bais Yaakov Movement, brings the story closer to our own experiences and challenges us to add our own contribution to the Bais Yaakov saga. Recordings will be available for this course. Dates (10 sessions): Oct 22, 29, Nov 5, 12, 19, 26, Dec 3, 10, 17, 24
