Service Description

This class will focus on the place of Agadah in the Talmud (the primary source of halacha) and on Agadah as a source for formulating Torah hashkafa. Rav Shurin is the grandson of Rav Yaakov Kamenetsky, zt”l, and had a very close, special relationship with his grandfather. Rav Shurin learned in the Chaim Berlin Yeshiva under Rav Yitzchak Hutner, zt”l. In 1977, he moved to Eretz Yisrael and joined the faculty of Yeshiva Darche Noam (Shapell’s College of Jewish Studies). He is currently the Rosh Midrasha of Midreshet Rachel V'Chaya, a division of Shapell's. Rav Shurin will share all of the sources for this class. Recordings will be available for this class.
